Joining Waterfall

If you are considering Freemasonry, the best first step is simply to get in touch. An enquiry starts a conversation, not an application: you do not need to know a member already, and there is no commitment in asking.

What does a Lodge evening look like?

Members arrive and meet before the formal Lodge meeting or ceremony. Once the Lodge closes, those dining stay for the Festive Board: a meal, conversation and time together.

Lodge of Instruction is also a significant part of membership. Members meet regularly to practise, learn and help one another with Lodge work. It is where much of the friendship within the Lodge develops, and members are strongly encouraged to attend.

Time and cost

Waterfall has four regular Lodge meetings each year, with Lodge of Instruction evenings throughout the year. There are also occasional rehearsals, committee, social and charitable activities, and members may visit other Lodges. It is an active Lodge, but membership should fit alongside the rest of life.

We will explain the current subscription, joining costs and typical Festive Board cost before any formal application, so that you can make an informed decision.

What happens after an enquiry?

  1. Send an enquiry and have an informal conversation with a member.
  2. Talk to or meet a few members informally, perhaps at an appropriate social occasion, and ask the questions that matter to you.
  3. Take some time to decide whether Waterfall and Freemasonry feel right for you.
  4. If you wish to continue, the Lodge will explain the formal application, interview, ballot and initiation process.

Questions people often ask

Do I need to know a Freemason already?
No. You can contact Waterfall directly and we will be happy to start with a conversation.
Do I need to live in Chertsey?
No. Waterfall welcomes men from Chertsey and the surrounding area who can take part in Lodge life.
